  • DCS Application Procedure

So, I just purchased a G110 and I'm ready to clean, polish, and wax my truck, but I had just a couple questions. I have searched a lot on here and other places.
I have the 3 stage Deep Crystal system. I used this last time with great results, but that was by hand.
I have determined from this forum to use:
-w8207 polishing pad with the cleaner
-w9207 finishing pad with both the polish and wax
    Does this sound right?

Now, here is my main question. I am a little unsure of the application procedure of each product. I have done quite a bit of research about this, but with different products (with abrasives). I have read about how the product should be first spread out onto the panel without the machine on, then set around setting 3-4 to spread the product around the panel a bit, then use setting 5-6 to "break down" the product. Then when the product turns translucent it is fully broken down and can be removed.
I have read that the paint cleaner, DC1, contains a small amount of diminishing abrasives, so I assume DC1 needs to be broken down? Will it turn translucent? I am just not sure exactly how long to work the products. And for the polish and wax I assume they do not need broken down, so would I just go over the panel 3-4 times and that would be good?
Any advice on the application procedure of each product would be great, specifically when I will know that the product needs not to be further worked.
Thank you in advance. I'm sure other small questions will arise.

    Re: DCS Application Procedure

To apply products with "cut" via a DA you should apply the product to the pad first, either in a circle around the edge of the pad or an x across the pad, set the pad on the paint, speed 5, turn the DA on, spread product in a 18x18 area while on, then slow down and go slower with some downward pressure but make sure the pad is still rotating. It should not turn translucent. Go up and down,(1 pass) then left to right (second pass) in even motions. Do about 5-6 passes then wipe. Search the how to videos if you need further instruction, I believe there is one on using the DA

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

      Re: DCS Application Procedure

ok, thanks. I knew about most of that, but it's nice to verify. I checked the how-to videos, but there really isn't anything there, that I saw, that has to do specifically with the DA polishers. There is a very short little piece on the DA polisher in the training video. In that short clip they were using products with diminishing abrasives, so they were working them until the product stopped being "cloudy", meaning that the diminishing abrasives were gone. Now, I assume that since the DC1 only has at most small amounts of diminishing abrasives in it that the idea above doesn't really apply, therefore as you mentioned 5-6 passes should be sufficient? And likewise, since DC2 and DC3 do not have any abrasives, then would you also just recommend 5-6 passes to be sufficient with them as well?
And finally, I know the pad needs to be initially primed with product in an X-pattern or circular pattern, but do following applications only really need to be a few drops or so? I realise I will quickly find out how much extra product needs to be applied, but just a rough starting point would be great.
Anyways, thank you for your help. I appreciate it.
      Ryan
