I would say yes, because it is more like a paint cleaner than polisher as my understand from the reading of MOL.

you can use it to clean the paint after clay bar your car.
    then put on wax!

correct me if I am wrong.

        Yes, ColorX can be used.

Not quite sure what is meant by more a cleaner than a polisher?

Its just a medium strength cleaner/wax, that leaves a real nice look. It also preps the paint well for a coat of regulat wax, if you wanted to do that.

ColorX is a good product that is readily available so it would be a good option for you. For added protection, top that off with some sealant.

Another option for you is Cleaner Wax, which is a bit gentler than ColorX. See these articles: In Praise of Cleaner Wax and The Value of Cleaner Wax. Whichever cleaner wax you choose, consider topping it with NXT or M26.

And since you will be claying anyways, a bottle of Cleaner Wax comes with the Meguiar's clay package (I think it's enough for a small car) but have not tried it.

Cleaner Wax has been around forever and although I prefer ColorX or NXT, I cannot tell the difference in the results when I use the "good old stuff in the burgundy bottle" (or can). You can always find it locally.

I am also a big fan of the Cleaner wax. However with either choice you won't go wrong.

The same recopmendation goes for all Meguiars waxes.

12-24 hours for absolute best looks. Most of us cant/dont want to wait that long, so try and at least give a few minutes, go get a drink in between, etc. You wont ruin anything if you dont wait, but a little setting up is nice.
