  • SwirlX and Cleaner Wax?

This may have been covered before. I detail my moms Isuzu Rodeo for mothers day and was wondering if I use SwirlX and then Cleaner wax will that be a waste of time? The car is Black with lots of swirls and is garage kept.

Hi, Mr. Waxer. If you are going to use SwirlX, which cleans and polishes the paint, there really isn't any need to use a cleaner wax; instead follow up SwirlX with a wax like NXT (two coats). That will be a better use of your time and energy. NXT will provide more durable protection and a "better" (always subjective, of course) shine.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

While I agree with the above post....

Black is a finicky paint to finish....If the SwirlX leaves a haze, then by all means use the Cleaner wax to finish it but that will be up to you and what you see during the process.

As you probably read over and over, do a test spot and see how it turns out with SwirlX and try the Cleaner wax to see how it works in your process then proceed from there.

      Keep us posted!

I used the swirl x on my jeep with good results. I used the cleaner wax on a friend's car that had never been waxed to my knowledge with great results.

Your process won´t do anything wrong.
They are just recommending dedicated products, it´s better but you said you have SwrilX and Cleaner Wax so you could try with that first and see how it goes.

Do a test spot and see if SwirlX removes the defects, if it does a great job then you can get NXT2.0 if you want or you can use Cleaner Wax and just apply a very thin layer and let it sit for about 15min and remove.

Purely personal preference, but I always like using a cleaner wax as a base after claying and polishing. It's a nice safety net to make sure you get the paint as clean as possible (in case you missed something), and since it uses such gentle abrasives it will leave a great finish.

My favorite wax combination right now is M20 base (replace that with ColorX, or A12 cleaner wax and it would be fine), followed by M21 2.0 (Nxt 2.0), and then maintain with UQW. LOVE the looks, feel, and protection.
