To know when to clay you need to feel the paint. If you can feel some bumps and it doesnt feel completely smooth like glass you need to clay.

On using it more than once yes you can, depending on how often you clay can depend on how long it lasts, I think somewhere someone had stated they slowly downgrade the clay to different areas as it gets older, i.e. paint, then glass, then wheels.

    Hope that helps

I find that I am having to clay my Camry at least once a month. There is something in the air where I work that peppers all the cars in the lot no matter where anyone parks.

It could be sap blowing from the trees or fallout from Jets flying over. I don't know for sure, but even a week after I clay I can feel contaminants on the paint.

I get between 2 and 3 claying's from 1 50 gram clay bar. I started cutting them in half so if I drop a piece I don't have to throw away so much. I go through a lot of clay.

you keep folding it and can't see clean surface for claying, then i think your clay is done.

I clay about every four months or so. Like the others have said, it all depends on what your paint feels like. With my clay bars, I seem to get a lot mroe than2 or 3 uses out of them. I constantly knead it and the clay always seems to look clean when kneaded enough. I probably get about 5 or 6 uses from my clay (each piece is a third of the mild blue bar)

The aggressive clay bar can leave micromarring behind that sometimes may even require the attention of a rotary (or so I have heard). Most of the time you can tackle everything with the mild blue and should not need the red.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

            I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
            Remove swirls my friends.

Mmmm. Peppered Camry. Sounds like a great Happy Hour appetizer!
