  • Help with moms g35

Well for mothers day, i decided i want to fully detail her 2003 G35 inside and out. The car itself is in good shape but stays outside all the time and needs to be protected. Also, it has only been washed and waxed no further detailing. There is no swirls in the paint just a few surface scratches that i think ColorX will get out

    Products to work with:
    1. Meguiars Crystal Clean Car Wash
    2. Meguiars Cleaner Wax
    3. Meguiars ColorX
    4. Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0
    5. Armor All Extreme Tire Shine
    6. Meguiars Clay Bar
    7. Meguiars Quick Detailer

    Pics of Car:

    Spoiler

Plastic on the bottom of the sides

What do you guys reccomend i do to get that spoiler looking good?

What do you guys do to clean up headlights? I heard something about wool?

What do you use to polish muffler tips?

And last, do you guys reccomend I buy something to take all the wax off beforehand. If so, what product?

Sorry about all the questions, any help will be appreciated.

i think your spoiler might be a cause of clearcoat failure. nothing you can do about that. as for your headlights, meguiars makes an a headlight restoration kit. it comes with a pad you can attach to your drill and some plastx to bring it back to life.

        I would do this:

wash with Deep Crystal Car Wash
clay with Smooth Surface Clay kit
        ColorX
        NXT 2.0 2 coats ( 12 hrs apart)

sounds good... what about the cleaner wax?? or would that be pointless because the clay gets the contaminents?

Clay will remove the above surface bonded contaminants. And after claying you have the choice of using Cleaner Wax or ColorX.

I would go with ColorX since it does a pretty good job of prepping that paint for that coat of NXT. ColorX is also going to be a little more aggressive than Cleaner Wax.

For what its worth, i use the ColorX/NXT combo on my truck all the time and it always ends up looking good.

you could always use the Cleaner Wax on the wheels too if you want.

Claying and ColorX will remove whatever wax is currently on the surface.
