  • How To Correctly Apply SwirlX?

    Dear guys and girls,

I tried several places, there is no thread particularly about how to use swirlX correctly. I just want to find a complete walk through about swirl X

I know I have to use about 1 teaspoon for about 1-2 sq feet, right?
then I should use circular motion to spread the swirlX, right?

ok then the problem comes, how much pressure, in lb. should I used?
do I still use the circular motion or should i use back and fro motion horizontal and then vertical?

    thanks for answering in advance
    Steven

This is a video of using the old ScratchX to fix swirls. Similar concept for SwirlX, remember to try and use the length of your fingers on the pad, not finger tips.

If you were just doing general cleaning, you would use less pressure, effort.

Do I have to always use pad?
if so what pad should I use? can I use micro fiber pad instead of the foam pad? or should I use the new pad I have in the wax and use the micro fiber pad for waxing?

can i use some cotton terry pad?

            Different pads have different aggresiveness.....

The yellow pad would be ideal to start, however if you need to move up the scale, then the MF pad or terry cloth pad would be that higher scale.

You just need to do a test spot in one area, get a process dialed in with whatever pad or product then go on from there. A test spot is recommended so that you don't do your whole car then not like the results.

If SwirlX doesn't cut it with either pad, you may need to move up to a stronger product such as Ultimate Compound which is an awesome product.

so cutting power of the pad is

yellow soft foam pad < MF pad < terry cloth pad?

Re: How To Correctly Apply SwirlX?

I would say so, I think the MF pad is softer, at least in my experience.

                Process is big too.....

With SwirlX and Ultimate Compound, when the product is done doing it's thing (before drying of course) you can tell when it's done, hard to explain. I usually work a 12X12 area and try at least 3 passes prior to moving up the scale. I usually stick to the yellow pad when doing things by hand. I only use terry cloth pads/cut up terry cloth when I am working on single stage paint and doing hard to get to areas that my G100 can't get to.

i don think i will buy any yellow foam pad anytime soon at least my wife won't let me.
so should i use the MF pad and the terry pad for wax
and save that new yellow foam pad from my gold class for swirlX or UC?

Boy I thought I had it bad!!!! I have to smuggle stuff home, use my lunch money to buy candy! LOL.

                    Ummmmm

I would use the foam pad for wax and use your MF pads or terry cloths for SwirlX and UC.

Pads are pretty cheap, like 3-4 bucks for a pack of two. Toss them in the cart next time at the store and give her the puppy eye treatment! Usually works for me, once in a great while.....

                      sir no sir.

7 Euro plus shipping in Austria.
so it will be like $15 for two!

i might need some help on buying some product in State to ship them over..
pads are light, should be cheap to ship via USPS! LOL!

                      so sad!!
