ok I seen a video of Paul Dalton (the guy that charges $5000 for a detail)spraying degreaser all over the car and windows. Some people were saying this cleans the paint before a full detail ,but should'nt be done that often.Well I always spray degreaser on the front and bottom of all cars I'm washing for bugs and tar.Am I messing up here?I sure hope not.And secondly where does Color X fit into a detail? For instance I have a black truck and if I detailed completely I could do swirlx and one step it and then I do colorx? or colorx first and wax last? thanks in advance

Re: 2 questions for pros and novice
1. Unless the car is covered in tar/grease, there is really no need to use a strong product like a degreaser on the whole thing. If too strong, it really could stain something, with all the random materials used on cars now.
2. ColorX is a cleaner/polish/wax in one, like other cleaner/waxes. So, using it in a detail would look like:
1. Wash
2. Clay as needed
3. ColorX
4. Wax
Now, SwilX is a cleaner/polish, so using it you could:
1. Wash
2. Clay as needed
3. Clean - SwirlX
4. Wax
5. Wax - 2 thin coats are best.
For black though, a pure polish could add a little extra looks, but of course it makes the process longer:
1. Wash
2. Clay as needed
3. Clean - SwirLX
4. Polish - DC#2, #7, Etc
5. Wax
6. Wax
Hope that helps...2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
