          Re: Color X

Check out Mike Phillip's article on ColorX. Bottomline: it cleans the paint and provides an initial layer of wax protection.

I personally would not apply #7 on the top of ColorX, but I know that some MOL members have done this with great success. I don't know why I'm so reluctant to to apply a pure polish on top of a wax, but I am.

              +1 on that!!!

I thought the old bottles looked like some "as seen on TV" type thing. I think it was the multi colours on it that made it look cheap.

The new one looks great! I can get it here at one store for a buck more than another sells the old one for. I think it's worth it just for the cool new bottle!!!

I think that, like you, I use a cleaner/wax to save time. If one is going to use a pure polish, and then 2 coats of wax, they may as well have used a dedicated cleaning poduct, in my opinion.

The way I tend to work by hand:

                1. Wash
                2. Clay
                3. Clean - DC1, SwirlX, etc.
                4. Polish - DC2, #7, etc
                5. Wax
                6. Wax - 2 thin coats are best

                Or:

                1. Wash
                2. Clay
                3. ColorX
                4. Wax
