  • Questions Pertaining to ColorX, Glaze, Wax

I'm working on my BMW tonight...

I'm going to claybar it, since its been awhile, but the car doesn't have really any scratches...

Should I use the ColorX first, or Glaze, or is both even necessary?

If it has been a while, you might want a bit of cleaning ability to get dirt off, which the ColorX has.

Keep it simple and focus on doing a great job for each step...

        • Wash and dry
        • Clay
        • ColorX
        • Your choice of finishing wax

I just noticed that my post was very vague...

I may go through a cleaner wax phase...

I'm detailing the car to prepare for sale... its already pretty much spotless, just needs sprucing up...

If you want you you can do the color-X, it will definitely brighten up the paint, then throw a coat of glaze on it, and finish with a nice wax.

              sweet...

I was basically wondering if the colorX would work together with the glaze... or if it would be a wasted step..

They would work together, but you would have to follllow up with 2 coats of wax if you wanted the recomended 2 coats.

At that point, if you are going through all the steps, you almost may as well use a dedicated cleaner like SwirlX, which would be a better cleaner than the ColorX.

I might just grab some actual cleaner wax after work, I'll be buffing the bottom half of the car since it was never polished....

I'll go over the rest with the cleaner wax... after claybarring of course...
