  • NXT on rims?

I have polished & cleared rims that I use in racing. The brake dust from race pads is heavy & more metallic than regular pads.

Would it be advisable to put some NXT on the rims next time I clean them up?

I know there are specific wheel wax products, but I try to keep the number of different products I use to a minimum.

    Thanks.

I personally always wax my rims with whatever I wax my paint with. Actually, I treat my rims just like I do my paint in that I clean them, polish them, then seal them just like the paint. Ive used NXT V1 and V2 many times.

Ive been meaning to try some stuff that Eagle 1 just came out with. Its called Keep Off for rims. We saw the commercial and ran out to get some but my bro ended up taking it with him(he wanted it in the first place). Gotta get me some to try.

i have clearcoated rims and NXT 2.0 works great, I also like to maintian them with UQW.

If you want the wax to last, stick to soap and water instead of wheel cleaners.

I have been known to wax my rims also. I understand from the heat the brakes throw off that the wax will not last that long.

I use NXT 2.0 on my paint and also on my wheels. Makes the wheels' freshly-washed appearance last a few days longer, and makes cleaning a bit easier the next time around, too.

Thanks guys, I have to use a rim cleaner like Hot Rims All Wheel cleaner & scrub because of the heavy deposits of race pad dust.

Will try nxt & various other waxes I have. Should make it come off easier.

Using the rim cleaner will strip the wax, so be sure to try with soap and water first.
