what do you guys use to remove oils?

I've been using the M105 and M205 combo a lot lately, and noticed that after the polishing, when I go to wash the car I still see smears of the polishing oils left on the paint. I've tried letting the hyperwash soak for a couple minutes before the wash, I even added a little bit of APC to the wash, but didn't have any better luck, should i add a little degreaser next time? Thanks

I have never had anything like this happen before. From my understanding, M205 does not have any polishing oils present in it.

I wish I would have taken some pictures. The best way I can describe them is... after a wash, they look like wide holograms, but when you wipe them with a towel they smear... and I can wipe them forever with clean microfiber towels and they just smear to one side or the other but will not come off... I have done this all using the DA. they disappear after a light wax or sealant application....

nope Here's what I do:
wash and dry
clay bar
M105 on a polishing pad at speed 4 on my flex DA
M205 on a polishing pad at speed 4 on my flex DA

should I wax between the m105 and m205?
again after a light wax application they're gone, as if the wax dries them out or something

Provided you are using a clean microfiber towel, and removing all trances of M205 from the vehicle after you've worked it into the paint, then you should not be having the issues that you are having.

I don't know whats going on here. Maybe wipe the entire vehicle down with a quick detailer, then move on to wax. Wiping it down nefore you wax(which everyone should be doing anyways ) will ensure that you have removed all traces of product off the vehicle.

Edit: Do not wax between M105 and M205. There is no need to do this at all, as the M205 will just remove the wax.

That's what I would think might be the cause. Are you making sure to either rotate the sides of the towel, or get a clean towel altogether as you go? You might be saturating the towel and leaving it on the paint.

Try using foamed glass cleaner for the final wipe down of the panel with a fresh towel. I use Sprayway, but others should work.

I I have tried the quick detailer as I always to that between polishing steps... when I polish I'll do one area one time and before I do the same area I will wipe it down with the quick detailer before doing another application... maybe I just got a bad bottle or something? it was brand new when I got it obviously. Oh and I'm sorry I mean should I wash between M105 and M205 not wax... and yes I use a clean towel for every body panel, I'm just a little anal about this stuff lol

That's what I would think might be the cause. Are you making sure to either rotate the sides of the towel, or get a clean towel altogether as you go? You might be saturating the towel and leaving it on the paint.

No need to wash between steps. What you're seeing is unusual. I'd be willing to bet that you are not seeing the saturation of your towel, and continuing to use it. This in turn, is not removing all traces of M205, and therefore, you are getting your streaking issue. This is just a guess, and I'm probably completely wrong here

you could very well be right! I mean like I said I get a brand new towel for every panel, but you never know, I'll keep a look out especially for this and report back next sat when I do another car. Thanks

What i do between product steps i do a 50/50 IPA wipe down then i'm sure there isn't any traces of polishes or fillers let on the paint .

I can't explain what you are experiencing. It doesn't sound like how those products are expected to perform. Especially M205, it was built to have the fastest/cleanest wipe off in the industry. We have many raves supporting this performance target.
