A few weeks ago I posted a link to some Hose & Cable Catchers sold by properautocare.com. It seemed like a great idea for anyone who has ever had to wrangle hoses and extension cords around a car, only to have the hose or cord get caught under one of the wheels.

A very good idea, but at $13 for a set of 4, plus shipping, I thought there had to be a cheaper alternative for the budget car guy like myself. Even more so for certain MOLers who have fiscally-minded girlfriends and/or wives to appease. So here is my on-the-cheap answer for the poor man's Hose & Cable Catchers: Plastic Garden Edging!

As you can see from the label on the last shot, my Hose & Cable Catchers on the cheap runs only $5 for 20 foot roll (sold at Big Lots). I will cut my roll in half, then use a ten foot section to form separate hose and cable catchers for the front and rear sets of wheels.
