I dont get it. I've clayed, then SwirlX and then I waxed with NXT 2.0 and In the right light I still see swirl mark's and paint Is as smooth as glass! oh I swirlXed twice.

I think it might be time to step up to ultimate compound. Did the swirlx make any difference?

Anyways, I say grab some ultimate compound and do a test spot to see if that works better.

are you working by hand or machine?

how long did you work the SwirlX in for? did you do too large of an area?

Before stepping up to UC, you may want to tweak your technique.

UC is pretty aggressive and you dont want to use it if its not needed, especially on the entire car by hand.

I agree. I did Swirl X twice on my hood, and while it reduced the swirls, it didn't completely remove them. Ultimate Compound gave me the same results with only one pass. Could be you have a really hard clear coat. My car does. I'm looking to step up to something a little bit more aggressive than UC for my car.

I'm working by hand. I worked it in for about a minute or so. There were some very noticeable scratches on one of the door's that are about 99 percent gone using the same method.

your paint could be on the harder side and might require the use of UC.

Does a DA make it that much easier?? I would be afraid of adding swirl 's!

See if you can find someone clse to you that has one, and give it a shot. Once you figure out how to properly use this machine, you'll be hooked, and never do another vehicle without one

Can't even begin to count how many people have come to our Saturday classes thinking,
                    1. The best results are always achieved by hand
                    2. Buffers burn paint and put swirls into paint

And then after the clase they leave with the knowledge and confidence that DA Polishers are safe to use, easy to use and produce better results faster then working by hand.

I used my DA last night for the first time. I borrowed the tailgate off our work truck (just in case something went wrong) and was surprised at how easy the machine was to use. I was working with M205 on speed 5 with a W8207 polishing pad and [just for kicks] try as I might, I couldn't get the polisher to stop. I did three passes total working the 205 until it was almost gone, and there was a very clear delineation of where the swirls stopped when I removed the tape; almost like I knew what I was doing!
