    My Question is,
I have noticed from some of the pictures posted of jobs being done that the car is taped off. Now I know that at times you do the vehicle in section do you tape these sections off or are they showing the difference of completed spot to a spot not completed.

    How to tape-off a car

Some of the sections being taped are to show comparison shots between corrected and uncorrected paint, or sometimes the difference between certain products.

The reason most of us tape-off a car is to avoid getting any of the paint care products on the rubber and plastic trim. This prevents ugly staining that is hard to remove and makes clean-up after the job faster.

Sometimes body lines or edges are taped-off to protect them from over-buffing, usually with a rotary buffer.
