Compatibility of Pads

OK, so I am looking to buy a G110 at www.autogeek.net

The G110 comes with a 4.75" W67DA backing plate.

I am also looking at pads:

W-7006 / w-8006 / w-9006 pads

Now it states that all these 6.5" pads need backing plate MG-64DA.

When I go and look at this backing plate, the website calls it a " 5" backing plate with an actual diameter of 4.75" but is to be used for 5.5 - 6.5" pads".

My question is:

If the W67DA (4.75") that comes with the DA is technically the same diamter as the MG-64-DA (4.75"), Do I need to invest in a second backing plate?

Basically, can I use the 4.75" backing plate included with the G110 for the W-7006/8006/9006 series of pads or do I need to change to a different backing plate?

No need to buy an additional backing plate.

The backing plate that comes with the DA (W67DA) will work just fine with the smaller pads...(W8006, W9006).

Keep in mind, while some may have success, we do not recommend the use of our W7006 on a DA.

oh...well that's good to know that you don't reccommend using them on a DA. If I hadn't posted here, how might I have known that? The website I am shopping at recommends it for any DA (which I know is out of your control) but even when I search "7006" on the Meguiars website, it does not say anything about not using it with a DA.

Regardless, what pads do you recommend then for the 110? I know in a previous post a admin recommended W8207/W9207 pads. These are 7" pads which I'm guessing would not work on the included 4.75" backing plate.

Can you recommend pads that I can use with the Ultimate Compound and swirlX that will fit the included backing plate?

I will buy a 6" (?) backing plate to use the above pads if I have to, but it would be nice to use the backing plate which is included.

They will work fine with the backing plate that comes with the tool, we use all our small pads with these backing plates with no problems. When you get the tool in your hands and put a pad on the backing plate you'll see it's not big deal.

You can use any of these pads,

W8207
W9207
W8006
W9006

A 6" backing plate will be too big.
