  • Deatiling after Winter

    I am deciding on the detailing job this weekend:
    1. Wash - Clay - Cleaner Wax - Wax
    2. Wash - Clay - DC1 - DC2 - Wax - Wax

    Option 2 will take more time. Question is will the extra effort make a difference on the final result?

    The wax I will be using is either Yellow Wax or Synthetic Sealant. If I choose option 2, should I use Yellow Wax before or after the Synthetic Sealant? Or is it better to use the same product for the 1st and 2nd wax?

    My car is a silver 2004 MB. Paint is in good condition, maintained by Meguiars products since it was new. Is Yellow Wax more suited for dark-color cars?

    Tough call... might have to do a panel of each and compare?

    I would just do 2 coats of the #21.

      Usually when you divide the paint cleaning, polishing, and wax steps you get better results

      Here is what I would do:

      Wash
      Clay
      DC1
      DC2
      M21 2.0 or M26.

        I only have the original Synthetic Sealant, not the 2.0 I still have half a can left.

        Is Yellow Wax more suited for dark-color cars? My car is silver.

        I like to do 2 coats of wax (after a few hours of cure time), is it better to use the same product?

          You can use the same product, or mix and match.

            I am tempted to do #21 first, then #26.
