did you perform a test spot first? What lighting conditions where you working with prior to pulling it outside? I would suggest a Brinkmann Dual Xenon that you can get from Pep Boys for 21.00 till the end of the month with the 10 dollar off coupon floating around.

You did only do a Test Spot, that is there's only one little spot or section on your car like you describe above correct?

Is this car you're working on a continuation of this thread?

I have a black car with small scratches and am not sure what would be best to use to remove them using a G110 ? swirl x, scratch x or uc, or m-205 have clayed it and am ready to the next step have never used a DA so want to start slow so any help guys?

Don't want to get confused and it's easier to keep one project in one thread.

            TEST SPOT

            Doing A Test-Spot

Before going over the entire car, see if you can make just one small section look good, that is apply the product you're planning on using over the entire car to just one small section about a foot squared or so. Work it in and then wipe it off, then apply the polish, work it in but not as much as the compound because now you're not trying to remove paint, just spread the product out, then immediately wipe it off, then apply the wax and let it fully dry and then wipe it off.

Now inspect our results. Make sure you can make one small section look GREAT before going over then entire car. If you can't make one small section look GREAT you won't be able to make the entire car look GREAT.

            Make sense?

            It should look like this,

And if you're having any problems, the post back here after the test section and we'll help you tweak your technique to insure you get it right.

Gosh, almost everyone that's used SwirlX has had phenomenal results, my guess is we need to tweak your technique..

Let's start with doing a small section about 20" square or so, apply some SwirlX to the face of a foam polishing pad, set the speed to 4.0 to start with and then buff this section using overlapping passes for 4-6 passes. Use medium pressure to start with and then for your last few passes lighten up a little. Don't buff to a dry buff, there should always be a wet film of product on the surface. After buffing this section, use a clean microfiber polishing cloth to wipe off the residue. Now inspect this section and tell us what you see?
