  • M-80 and micro maring

I thought about a week ago I saw a brief article by Mike Phillips that said about 10% of the clear coats get a slight haze when you used M-80 and a G110 with a Soft Buff 2 polishing pad (I think he called it micro maring). That leaves me with three questions.

    1. I have a 2005 corvette. Is that clear coat likely to be in the 90% that is okay or 10% that has the issue.

    2. If this occurs on your test patch, what do you do to remove it?

    3. If you have this problem how should you proceed to remove minor swirls on the rest of the car?

Your vette should look great with #80. I have not had issues with #80 on GM paints ever. Not to say they don't happen. I just have never had it happen to me.

      Re: M-80 and micro maring

One of the problems with forums is that people often forget that for the most part, people only join to talk about when they have problems. For every person that posts about a problem, there are hundreds or thousands of people who had the product work perfectly for them.

It's only natural that most people do not go out of their way to share their experience unless it was negative and they need help/advice.

So keep that in mind when you hear about "problems" with products- just because you find a few threads about it doesn't mean it is "the norm" or even anywhere close to it.

M80 has been used for YEARS and YEARS with thousands upon thousands of happy customers with no problems.
