Sorry if there is already an answer to this, I did a quick search, but maybe am typing the wrong key words. What I am wondering is the difference between these spray detailers and spray waxes. I asked at my local bodyshop supply store a couple days ago and the fellow behind the desk's exact words "Well basically one is like a detailer, and the other is more of a spray wax......"Ok. that is obvious. I am wondering does the spray wax improve protection over the detailer, whereas the detailer just eliminates fingerprints etc produces a higher gloss? Or is the detailer just easier to apply but doesnt last as long? In the end they both produce a glossy finish and protect the paint right? (or wrong?) So why should I choose one over the other? Hope that makes sense..

Thankyou, so looks to me like I may have been doing this wrong, after I wash my vehicle and dry it I always finish it off with UQD because I assumed it was adding a fair amount of protection while removing minor waterspots or streaks & adding gloss to the paint. Instead I should be using UQW because I am always applying it to a washed/dried surface anyway & what I am looking for is shine and protection to maintain until my next claying/polishing/waxing. I might be using UQD for the wrong reason, is it then basically a product that would be used say in showrooms to keep those cars looking topnotch? Because from what I read it appears people use it for alot more and for same reasons as me, when maybe we should be using UQW instead for a higher protection which daily drivers need?Comment

Rvx, until UQW debuted, I think a lot of people were using UQD precisely as you have been using it. I still use it after washes, too. But with the introduction of IQW, some people are now using it instead of UQD after washes. After all, it doesn't take any more time to UQW a car than to UQD it, and the UQW provides protection and shine that the UQD does not. I have not, however, bought myself a bottle of UQW yet. I have too many waxes to play with.

Thankyou for setting the record straight. ...Unfortunately I too have too a surplus, When UQD first came out I couldn't find it in stores anywhere because these products always take a while to reach Canada, well I found a damaged case of it on Ebay for $25 which was a steal so now I still 5 bottles left and am going crazy because although I love the stuff, I really want to try the UQW because it sounds like it is a product with better added protection
