respray mismatch help

i had two side panels resprayed in metallic black. the original colour has a purple hue/flake but the new one (even though sprayer did a great job) looks more purple and is lighter.

new paint looks quite shiny and blending seems ok.

the car has been clayed, polished and waxed a month ago.

will the colour darken in due time or after polish and wax (in 2 months time)?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but probably not and highly, highly unlikely.

More polishing won't help because the problem is under the clear layer of paint. The only honest fix will be to re-paint the panels.

....and then it still might not match. Metallic paint can sometimes be a real "pain".

The best shops will know to blend the color into the surround panels to give the eye the optical illusion that the paint is all the same color. Otherwise, the panels may always look off.

the paint blends in perfectly. this slight mismatch only shows on the parts which are fully bathed in light (and only when these are compared to the other side).
