  • Undercarriage/Suspension Detail...

What are you guys using to spray fenderwells, leaf springs, shocks, frames, etc?

I've noticed that alot of professional detailers use something similar to armorall or something to that effect...

    Thanks

    Re: Undercarriage/Suspension Detail...

I read that the all season dressing is a good choice...

I'm surprised, the search function here works so much better than most forums...

    Thanks

A lot of people use a Degreaser and/or Car Soap using a brush.

I use Super Degreaser from Meguiars. Then I dress them with Meguiars Trim Detailer or Hyper Dressing.

I agree with MQM, Hyper Drssing and super degreaser works well.

If you are going for immediate best looks and least amount of work- Hyper Dressing is the clear winner. Hyper Dressing has what I explain to be a magical spreading property. You can literally spray the product, walk away, and come back to see that it spreads itself evenly and coats the entire surface.

The downside to Hyper Dressing is that it is water based so it will come off when washed or rained on.

If you want something to last longer, either All-Season Dressing or M40 would be a great idea. I use both.

I like M40, spray and walk away! It may not be as durable as All Season Dressing but it lasts okay, a few washes or a day or so of harsh weather!

Can the all season dressing be used on Tires as well? Rubber seals? Etc?

Yes it can, but for tires. I recommend Hot Shine Tire Gel or Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel.

Hyper Dressing works good on tires too.

Here is another vote for the All Season dressing. I tried it on the tire also. It was okay. Not quite the look I wanted. Now it is for the areas you mentioned and the rubber exterior trim.

I actually prefer a satin finish on tires, not an extremely gooey gel finish...

What is everyone using for a satin/semi gloss finish?

HyperDressing. Its water based and can be diluted according to your shine preference.

I like Exterior Trim Detailer in the aerosol can, its perfect for my wheelwells. I spray and walk away and it evens itself out. I have not used Hyperdressing before but would like to try it.

How glossy/shiny are all these dressings you guys are talking about? I know hyperdressing is dilutable so that varies. But how about the rest?

Exterior Trim Coating is leaves a nice black sheen and has good durability. I know ASD is long lasting and durable.
