  • S2000

Hey guys, a few quick questions on a detail i will be doing tomorrow.

its my girls S2000 (2005, suzuka blue)

the interior is my favorite part of this car, tiny, clean, dusty. wont take much effort.

    going to accomplish this with,
    hyper dressing 4:1
    leather conditioner
    Stoner Invisible glass
APC for the carpets and stains

the outside i have tried to keep well enough since i met this girl, but the paint needs a little work.

    wheels/ tires -
Wheel brightener 2:1 to clean, super degreaser on tires 3:1
    ASD to dress fender wells
    Hyper Dressing 2:1 for tires

    Paint -
    Wash- NXT wash
    Clay
Going to try 80, if that doesnt produce results i will try 83
then i will hit it with 82
and follow up with #7 and NXT 2.0 or #26

anybody have experience with S2k paint? what products worked best for you? trying to achieve an A+ on this one. there are no scratches, scuffs or dents other than the front bumper.

    will post pics. stay tuned

All of the S2000 that have ever been to Meguiar's garage have had very polishable paint and M80 with a polishing pad on the 5.0 setting using good technique should work great.

I ended up going over the car with the smooth surface clay kit, followed by # 84 and swirl free polish. then i took the top surfaces and hit them with #7 followed by 2 coats of NXT 2.0

car looks great, camera died half way in.... all i have are some finished shots i will post up.

also took care of an altima (wash and wax) this weekend, as well as my friends 240SX (black, terrible shape, 2 passes of 84, 1 pass speed glaze, 1 pass of swirl X.
looks great! unfortunately im pretty much terrible at keeping up with documenting my work. will post up

What was it like using M84 with the DA?

M84 is a rotary buffer only product but if it worked for you then that's a good thing.

Did you do a Test Spot with it first?

i noticed the M84 was a rotary only thing. it actually worked well with speed 5 and a little bit of QD on the pad.
2 passes on the 240SX produced very good results. especially after following up with the swirl free polish.

                Re: S2000

the test spot happened to be the drivers 1/4 panel. the paint was a bit faded and after a few different pressures and amounts of product i decided that it would work well for the car as a whole. speed glaze did not cut enough for this old car, the results after 6+ hours left the owner stunned. smooth, glass black, of course the clear coat failure in some spots, and rattle can job over some rust detracted from the look of the car, but overall it looks great!

                  Re: S2000

i was using a 7006 pad with moderate pressure on speed 5 moving rather slowly

im going to inspect the car again today and snap a few pictures. if i have time between all my class work i will post them up tonight
