  • Ultimate Compound Question... Honda Civic

I used UC with a white CCS polishing pad with G110 on the hood of my 2006 Civic. There are swirls that can only be seen in the sun. After 1 pass on speed 5 (left right, up down, diagonal). Some of the swirls are still there.... but no extra marring from UC. It removed most of the swirls, but some were still visible when staring at the sun's reflection. I think there is even some water etching.

I want to know why mine didnt end up like this. We have the same car. I'm sure you remember this thread.

BTW, Swirl-X and Scratch-X 2.0 didnt even touch the original swirls with a finishing pad, or the white ccs polishing pad. ~20 lbs of pressure, speed 5.x, slow movement. I thought Honda paint was supposed to be soft. Am i doing something wrong?

The above picture you are referencing; if I remember correctly this person applied UC by hand and did not use a DA. That may be why your car turned out better.

Because you lurked here, compiled 150 posts, drank in the invaluable free advice from seasoned pros, learned how to use products, techniques, and tools correctly, and applied what you learned before attempting your paint correction.

      Congratulations!

Good reply. That's what I was trying to get at, but you put it better.

What happened to that UC thread?
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

            Right here:

There are proper techniques even when working by hand. Participate in discussion or start a new thread with your question.

Another reason why a "test spot" so so important, if it isnt working dont continue over the whole body!
