  • Swirl Removal

I just received my g110 it from ads and have some questions. First with 105 and the g110 I can remove some pretty rough looking scratches but can't seem to touch the much lighter swirl marks. Also tried with 205 and didn't notice a difference either. Any tips or tricks? And yes i read every post in the dual action polisher section, and yes it took me while. I'm working on a 2000 Celica and a 2007 Elantra. Both are silver. It seems with a few passes of 105 on the celica there is a noticeable improment, but not the elantra.

    Re: Swirl Removal

    Hi Tom,

Is there any chance you could get some pictures of what you are describing? It would help us to figure out if the remaining defects are being caused by your process, or were already there.

Also, what pads and how much pressure are you using?

      Re: Swirl Removal

I was trying to take some pictures but the car is bright silver and the swirls are pretty hard to see with or without flash. I went ahead and called a friend of mine who is a detailer who suggested trying 205 again at speed 6. It worked. took almost all the swirls out. Stepped up to 105 and removed all but the deepest.

P.S. Great job Megs on the buffer. This is one solid piece of equipment.
