Re: M-80 or Swirl-X ? Which is better
Are you working by hand or by machine and if by machine what kind of machine?

Removing swirls out of the factory clear coat on a new Corvette is not the easiest thing to do if you're not already experienced on removing swirls and scratches out of hard, but delicate and thin clear coat paints.
But we can see you through to success...

Re: M-80 or Swirl-X ? Which is better
They're both easy to use, SwirlX is going to be easier to find and you only have to buy a 16 ounce bottle, the M105 and M205 in the Professional Line only come in 32 ounce bottles and you have to locate a PBE store or order them online.
SwirlX and Ultimate Compound can be found in places like Walmart, Target, AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc.
What you want to do is first read this a couple of times,
How To use: G110 - G220 - G100 - PC/Porter Cable - UDM
If you're moving up to machine polishing, be sure to read the below thread before starting...
Tips & Techniques for using the G110, G100, G220 and the PC Dual Action Polisher
(These are all similar tools)
Next read this,
Next, wash and dry your car and then feel the horizontal surfaces and check to see if the paint needs to be clayed and if it does then clay it.
Now you're ready to do a Test Spot using the SwirlX with one of our yellow foam foam polishing pads. Map out a section in your minds eye about 16" to 20" square on a flat panel like the hood. Use this area to do your Test Spot.
TEST SPOT
Doing A Test-Spot
Before going over the entire car, see if you can make just one small section look good, that is apply the product you're planning on using over the entire car to just one small section about a foot squared or so. Work it in and then wipe it off, then apply the polish, work it in but not as much as the compound because now you're not trying to remove paint, just spread the product out, then immediately wipe it off, then apply the wax and let it fully dry and then wipe it off.
Now inspect our results. Make sure you can make one small section look GREAT before going over then entire car. If you can't make one small section look GREAT you won't be able to make the entire car look GREAT.
Make sense?
It should look like this,
And if you're having any problems, the post back here after the test section and we'll help you tweak your technique to insure you get it right.
Using the G-100 to remove swirls with the Professional Line
The above shows different chemicals but the techniques shared will be the ones you use with any scratch and swirl remove when you're removing swirls and scratches.
