I use Ultimate compound (and the swirlx by hand which worked magnificently) leaving behind only the small scratches but no swirls. Then whenever I hit the test spot with the swirlx it was well lubricated, applied for about 2 minutes with a clean terry cloth and it left aLOOOOOOT of extreeemely large glarey swirls over the whole area that i tesed it. After compounding it again the new swirls didn't come out. I used swirlx again and the new swirls still didn't come out. I even thought it might be residue or something so i washed the whole hood and it's still there without the slightest sign of being any different then before the compound/wash. I tried another spot to see if maybe i was crazy and those swirls were already there or something. SO i washed the hood again, clayed it, picked another spot, compounded it with 2 passes until only deep scratches remained. Then I applied the swirlx with less pressure until it was all worked in, buffed it off, cleaned it off, and that spot now look exactly the same as the other spot. How is UC working so well but something less abbrasive is causing it to look like this and how in the world do i get rid of them if the UC for some reason won't remove them?
