  • Vinyl "Woody" Care

I have an ebay special '95 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with the vinyl woodgrain option. I'm looking to detail this thing for the 1st time & I'm wondering what processes should be used on the vinyl woodgrain sections. Do these areas have clearcoat over them? After a wash, what next?? Will waxing these areas provide benefit?

Do you mean vinyl as in like a decal of woodgrain? (like a heavy duty sticker?)

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

      Roadmonster, yeah baby!

Congrats. Head over to impalassforum.com, there's a wagon section waiting for you.

The vinyl doesn't have a clear coat, it's a giant sticker. wax would be OK, but don't try and polish it.

This was exactly the question I was going to ask. But mine is a 1969 Merc Wago and the vinyl wood grain has 'whitened" over time. Does Meguiar's sell any product that will revive the wood grain without having to replace it?

          Thanks guys,

          Rod

Gold Class Trim Detailer could be an option, but an offical answer would be nice.

Now wait a dog gone minute. I thought I was the only ISSF member that uses Meguiar's and not Zaino.
