April Fool's Prank. HELP ASAP.

hey guys, so today my friend came up to me and said that people were stracthing her car. scratches were everywhere, swear words, deep key scratches, picutres, even her name is on the car. can u help me tell her what products i should tell her to use to FULLY ELIMINATE these scratches? (it will be best if we can work it by hand and no electric tools cuz it is expensive here in Canada..)






PLZ ANSWER BACK ASAP. HER PARENTS ARE FURIOUS AND WANTS THESE SCRATCHES TO BE GONE. (its a leased car, so u get the idea..)

I removed the pictures with the obvious bad words- we don't allow that stuff here (sorry!).

But I think these pictures still get the point across.

To me, from the pictures it looks like re-painting is most likely your only bet. Can you feel them with your fingernail? Can you see depth to them?

That will not come out with anything less than a repaint of all panels involved, in my opinion. Hand work, machine work , don't think either will touch it. Those scratches look nice and deep, down into the primer.

Just another thought, this was not an april fools prank.. either way someone needs to be arrested.

thnx, ill tell her that. She wishes she can get someone to be areested but nobody knows who did it...

should she see go back to the dealership to see if warranty covers this (probably not..) and buy the repaint kits?

this kind of paint damage is not covered under the car's warranty.

She needs to find a good bodyshop and have the car repainted to fix the problem.
She should at least get hold of her car insurance company as this may be covered depending on the type of coverage she has.

I agree with Hellspawn, this was major damage to property, NOT a simple April Fools prank, and someone should be arrested!!

Insurance might cover under vandalism with a deductible, but repaint kit.... unless you've done body work w/ sprayers, strippers , etc... this isn't something that you (nor I) would have any business trying to fix, sadly.

Repainting body panels is not as simple as spray painting a lawn chair with a rattle can.,.. (not meaning to be condescending in any way, but I think it's pretty darned involved.)

What kind of car is that? Looks like a Camry?

That really stinks. I just don't know what;s wrong with people these days. Those scratches are just way to deep to fully remove. If there weren't so many, I would suggest touch up and wet sanding but the areas are very large. If she has collition, maybe the insurance will pay.

I can't believe this. People have no respect for anybody's property anymore. Then some argue about owning guns. These low lives need to get punished or way or another. I would contact the authorities as soon as possible.

If you haven't call the police, call the insurance company (they often decide where you should take your car). It looks like the car is going to need a full respray, but the insurance adjuster and the leasing company need to look at the car as well.

Just curious - is your friend high school or college age? Sounds like a one or more unhappy female acquaintances. They can be quite vindictive. I think it would fall more under vandalism then collision coverage. Either way there will be a deductible if they feel it is covered. Also a police report needs to be filed ASAP if not already done, the ins. co will require this almost assuredly.

Definitely one for insurance. This type of damage should be covered under her comprehensive policy. Your friend is the victim of a crime and because the damage is so extensive - the cost of repainting those panels could run anywhere between $3000 - $6000 USD - the crime should be classed as a felony. If Canadian insurance policies are anything like the US, your friend shouldn't have to worry about an increase in her insurance.

I also say go to your insurance company. Make sure a police report is filed.
If it is a leased vehicle they have full coverage. That is definitely a repaint.

That's pure vandalism, I sure hope you gave Chuck a call as well as the police and Insurance Company. There would be heads rolling down the street if someone would ever think about doing something alike that to my things and/or friends and family. The people who did that need to be locked up for a while... Kids more so then some adults think they can just o out and do what ever they feel like doing just because of something stupid like "She stole my bf!!!" or "they are so much more popular then me". It is true BULL Poop, people need to go out and just spank or beat the tarnation out of some of these kids then maybe they will get a hint that something is wrong with the way they act. No respect from the younger generation, no Honesty, and no trust either. Grrrrr. Yeah I am still a youngen compaired to some people that might be on here, but there is no reason stupid stuff like this needs to happen.......

As far as that car goes, that really *****. Hope she can get it fixed or something. And yeah, somebody should definitely get arrested. Wonder why stupidity isn't a crime?
