Hey all, I know I've been gone a while, but I just needed a break from it all.
The monster in question is a late '04 or early '05 Accord with black??? paint. I seriously underestimated this car and the interior... leather seats & vinyl surfaces, but not the headliner or carpet took almost 9 full hours.
The paint is much worse than I thought and now that I've started buffing on it, I'm getting a blue tint and metal flake showing up. I'm still on the learning curve for SwirlX (seems to be good stuff though) and I picked up some #21 to try...don't tell the wife, I still have a full tin of NXT 2.0.
I've spent the last few hours on this thing and it seems like I'm barely making a dent in the scratches & swirls...I even tried some #1 Med Cut Cleaner thinking I could deal with removing hazing, but no dice there either. What is this Honda paint made of???
Of course, I started buffing when it started to get dark out so I had to move into the garage under a couple of 500w halogens lights & we all know how forgiving they are...
EDIT: Oh yeah, is there any problem putting on a pure polish, then applying the #21 without removing the polish residue?
