              Is it:
              1) wash mitt/medium in bucket
              2) take filter with detachable middle area and push down on water, filtering the particles
              3) remove center portion to trap particles on the bottom

              ?

Personally I always appreciate the creative mind... sometimes you start with one idea and then it changes and the next thing you know you're on your way to the next best thing to sliced bread!

So let's be encouraging and positive!

You betcha eyezack87 -I mean think about it for a second the grit gaurd we all know and love (and you cant buy In Mississauga)relies on gravity?.
Why not help things along and plunge filter the water ?
Crud is trapped at the bottom with no depth of water to swirl back up and the water on top is filtered so to speak.
Works with coffee why not crud.?

I think he is talking about something similar to a French Press for Coffee.
A French Press I believe works, by having a little dish that you put the coffee grinds onto, then you plunge it in the water, and it "brews" the coffee.

That be the one carfire except for our purposes we need the bucket so I want to
                      • leave the dirt trapped
                      • the water clean
                      • and remove the plunger for access

No cream or sugar for me.

It took me a while to figure out from just the diagrams.
Glad I found out what you are talking about.

                          Cool, I got it right

In theory it should work just fine because the concept makes sense. Now you just have to fabricate the parts. However, if you cannot get it to work, Chris @ eshine.ca has them in stock if you're up to order it online

Being a coffee aficionado, I saw it right away and actually thought of it when I saw the homemade grit guard buckets I saw earlier, just never put any thought to it.

                            That is a great idea.

Wash a panel or two, press the dirt down and continue on!

Now that it is explained. It makes more sense. It sounds good.
