What producsts should I use to get the possible shine.

Im thinking, Gold Class Car wash, than a Clay Bar, than either Scratch X or Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner (not sure which one), than Deep Crystal Polish, than Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax or Gold Class Clear Coat Wax (not sure which one).

Please tell me if this is right, and which ones to use, or if theres something better (Like the new NXT stuff, is it better?)

What products do I need to apply it all, and should I use dish soap first to remove my previous wax?

    Thanks in advance

BTW, I have '02 Dodge Dakota, Silver, paint is in good shape, but I want my truck to look the best.

Oh, and I just want to use the Consumer products, not the proffesional.

Even if your paint is in great shape, if it's a few years old and parked outside some of the time, than chances are very high that you have bonded contaminants somewhere on the finish. So I would recommend claying your trucks finish after you have washed it.

Skip the Dawn wash, just use a premium quality car wash, this will be more than enough to clean the entire car from top to bottom and besides that, if you use quality paint cleaner, the paint cleaner will do a better job of prepping your trucks finish than washing with a strong detergent wash like Dawn. Remember, other components of your truck are also effected by strong detergents, things like rubber, vinyl and plastic surfaces. Detergent washes will accelerate the deterioration process of these surfaces too.

After you have clayed your trucks finish, apply ScratchX to the entire truck. Apply a section at a time, and work the product in, don't just merely wipe this product on and then wipe this product off. You don't have to get as serious about the application of this product as is outlined here,

How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

But you don't just want to wipe it on and wipe it off. Of all the products and procedures, the cleaning step is the most important, it will determining your end-results. So pay attention and focus on the task at hand when performing the paint cleaning step. (Read the link above, it will give you some tips for applying and removing ScratchX, for example, you don't have to and you don't want to leave ScratchX on the finish to dry, you apply it, work it in, and then remove it an move on to the next section).

Polishing with a pure polish is an optional step, because your finish is a light color, (silver), you may not notice any visual difference, if it were me, and I was going to commit to a multi-step system, then I would polish. For this the Deep Crystal Polish is effective, easy to use and very affordable. Like the ScratchX, you apply it, work it in, and then remove it, you don't need to let it dry or set-up.

After you have removed the polish, then you can apply your wax, I would recommend NXT Tech Wax but any Meguiar's wax will work.

Spend some time reading through the threads in these two forums and you will see a lot of makeovers and learn a lot about products and procedures,

        Hope this helps...

Wow thanks, that hlped a lot, so I'm thiking of using...

NXT Generation Car Wash, than Going over with a Clay Bar and Quik Detailer, than ScratchX, than Deep Crystal System Polish, than NXT Generation Tech Wax.

After reading posts I realize NXY Generation is best stuff, just I was using the Rx and it never mentioned NXT Generation stuff, so I wasn't sure.

Anyways thanks for the advice, oh and on the way to the store, is there any other products I should pick up, like for applying all of the stuff?
