To me, it actually looks like a Rotary. You can tell because of the trigger under the handle. DA's to my knowledge (I might be wrong so don't quote me) have the on/off switch on top and the speed settings on the back by the cord. Rotary's are a step or two up from the DA's too. More less DA are prime for beginners then move up to the flex and/or rotarys.
