  • My Process

Hey I know some ppl post up what and how they do what they do.. so I thought I would do it to.. to see what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong, and hece learn, rather than be shelthered

Wash - only availabe through Car Wash (meaning harsh soaps, yeah i know) I still use my Megz Wool Mitt...
    Clean Wheels
    Dry - Chamois
    Inspect the work
    Clay Bar the entire car
    Apply Megs Step Two process
Apply usually two coats of wax (question - can i apply Megz Nxt and Auto Glym (or other wax with megz)????
Clean All windows inside and out...
    Quick Detail

    - I do my work under the shade, but no inside as I have no inside..

What am i missing or is this an ok process...???

I dont use scratch x or swril x, and everything is done by hand as i dont trust my self with machines...

    Re: My Process

    1. Wash - Good, do the best you can. Might be able to use your own soap and buckets if you went at an off hour.

    2. Clay

    3. Clean - DC1 is a good mild cleaner

    4. Polish - DC2 is a good pure polish

    5. Wax - 2 thin coats of wax is good. There is no reason you cant try the two different products, the worst you will get is a little smearing.

    6. Interior - I assume you mean Quick Interior Detailer?

    -

Process looks good. May or may not need to clay everytime, and of course any dressings you want to use.

If you are starting to see any swirls you want to fix, you could look into SwirlX, etc. But a mild cleaner is fine for dirt.

      Re: My Process

yeah i am not sure what DC 1 or DC 2 is....

so I can use more that one product with the waxs?

Quick Detailer after i have waxed and not to do with the interior....

I just clay cause i love doing it...lol

Have not had much success with SwirlX or SratchX but that is to do with my application....

        Re: My Process

Hi, the DC stands for 'Deep Crystal', the number is the order to use the product in:

        DC1 is a cleaner
        DC2 is a pure polish
        DC3 is a wax

I've used the DC products for a while now and they are a good starting point and give great results.

DC3 is a natural Carnauba Wax

NXT is a synthetic Polymer Sealant

                NXT is man made.
sealants "generally" last longer than a pure wax. but most feel the pure waxes give off a deeper, warmer glow

                  Re: My Process

I suggest that you add either a paint cleaner (DC 1) or a cleaner/polish (SwirlX) to your process. The paint cleaner will remove below-surface contaminants. SwirlX will also remove below-surface contaminants, but in addition it will remove swirls and light scratches and thus intensify the gloss of the paint.

This might help. Here are the products in the Meguiar's Deep Crystal (DC) system.

Deep Crystal paint cleaner is a very light paint cleaner and it removes very minor swirls and its excellent to use on new cars or finishes in excellent condition,

ColorX on the other hand is an aggressive cleaner wax that does these three things:

                          -clean
                          -polish
                          -protect

Personally, i love using the ColorX/NXT combo on my truck after a long harsh winter or if i havent gotten a chance to detail in a while. You could use ColorX with a soft foam applicator pad. If you use ColorX on your car then in the future you could use a light paint cleaner like DC1 for lighter paint cleaning and then use your wax of choice afterwards. Be sure to clay as well

                          hope this helps

                              Re: My Process

                              it would go like this:

                              Wash
                              Dry
                              Clay
                              DC1
                              DC2
                              NXT 2.0 ( 2 coats)
QD ( wait until the next day to use a quik detailer)

                              best of luck!
