  • Desert dust storm

    Hey guys been a lurker here for a while but have been using Meguiar's products for many years.

    I have a problem I need some help with. Just got back from a long weekend in AZ with a lot of highway driving and on the way home ran across several dust storms that tore across the front of my car. The shine on the front is gone and looks flat. I am scared that the paint is ruined to the point where it cant be repaired.

    I am pretty picky about how my car looks so I wash/clay/polish/wax the car once a month using Meguiars products.

    The details:
    Car = 08 Black infiniti G37 coupe.

    If anyone has experince in this type of stuff please let me know. I am hoping to have time tomorrow to give it a good wash to further inspect the damage. I am hoping its not to the point where the front needs to be repainted!

    I tried to search but didnt get too many results. If the post needs to be moved to a differnt location please do so!

    Thanks in advance

    I would state in my unproffesional nature, that if your car has been constiantly waxed on a regular basis that there should be enough protection on the clear coat...and that a good clena up job will fix the issues you are having..

      Washing and seeing what is going on will definately be the key.

        I think a good wash job is in order. You have to be able to evaluate where you are at. If the car is properly maintained you should be okay.

              I am hoping to make time for a decent wash today sometime. I would love to be doing this as we speak but other real world things are in my way, work being one of them

              I can also take some pics to post so everyone can see what I am up against.

              thanks guys!

                I live in Palm Springs,CA and experienced the same thing....sand storms galore. The only fix for mine was call the insurance company and they had it repainted and replaced the parts that needed replacing. Hope you get lucky with some Megs products and don't have to go that route.

                  Did you have any problems going the insurance route?

                    lived in palm desert/palm springs/indo most of my life, and I know exactly what you mean. None of my cars have ever been hurt too badly tho, just a lot of windshield pits.
