  • About SwirlX, Polish & NXT Wax 2.0

    Hello Everyone.
I have a Blue Ford Explorer with light swirls & light scratches,
and have a few questions for you.

I think I read that SwirlX must be rubbed for about a minute.
But if I use a G110, for how long time should it be applied?

Should it be applied first with an applicator pad, then use the G110?

What buffing pad should be used? (for swirlx)

How many pads would it take to get the job done after wash + clay ?
I think it needs only one good pass.

Would it make any difference if, after SwirlX, I polished it with DC2 or M07 or 205 ?
What is best? Would this additional step add a wet look to the car?
    What's stronger M07 or 205?
What buffing pad should be used? (for polish)

What buffing pad should be used when waxing with NXT Tech Wax 2.0 Liquid ?

    Thanks very much in advance.

    Welcome to MOL ezrre,

First of all, just a friendly heads up, I have noticed that when people post more than 2-3 questions in a single post they end up getting NO replies because people feel overwhelmed at the thought of answering so many questions. It is best to allow the discussion to get started and add in the questions as you go.

That said, here is my attempt:
1.) It will vary based on the weather, but it should be about a minute as well. You will notice the product begin to develop a dry haze, and you will likely also feel the pad having more friction as the product dries up. Stop about then, and wipe it off.

Apply the product to the pad on the machine, and you can tap the pad around on the paint a few times before turning the machine on to lower the chance of splatter.

Your best bet is the Yellow W8207 Soft Buff 2.0 Buffing Pad. It's strong enough to aid in cutting, but gentle enough not to harm the paint when used properly.

As for pads, I personally like to have at least 2-3 pads for EACH product just in case you drop one, or you get it over loaded with product.

Using a pure polish after SwirlX is not really needed, but if you still have the energy and really want to go for that extra bit of gloss, it can't hurt.

M07 is a pure polish which contains NO abrasives, and only adds oils to the paint. M205 has a 4 on a 12 scale of cut, and it is meant to remove minor defects and refine the finish. Thus, M205 is definitely stronger since M07 doesn't have any strength at all.

Following SwirlX with M205 MIGHT improve the finish, but that is something you will have to test and decide for yourself since every car is different.

When using any waxes or pure polishes like M07 you will always want to use the black W9207 finishing pad. In fact, you can also use the black pad for a non-pure polish, but a finishing polish like M205 as a final step as well.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

      Of course !
It helps me a lot !!

This is going to be my first time, and just as everybody, I am a little nervous and anxious.

I am going to keep it simple and see the results I get.
      I'll just:

      - Wash
      - Clay
      - SwirlX
      - NXT 2.0

      Thank you so much
