  • Husky 2000 PSI Electric Pressure Washer with Smart Technology System

Has anyone bought or used a Husky electric power washer? I am looking for a multi tasker and thought this would be a good tool to pick up.

I am refinishing some old furniture and a hose just doesn't seem to take the stripper off as fast as I would like. So many wood workers have suggested an electric power washer to speed things up. Well since I love to wash my cars/toys I thought not a bad idea. Wife thinks renting is wise but I am trying to show that for a small investment it will pay off. We have a wood deck, 2 cars, a family of 4 and its fair share of toys, etc.

This model I think has a 3 year warranty, so if it breaks I think husky will replace 100% at no cost to me. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks

I don't own a pressure washer, but would like one.

With a 3 year warranty, can't be beat.

My only input is to check the hose connectors. We have a plastic electric one from Sears and it leaked and broke pretty quickly while washing cars. We didn't use it much either. The plastic connectors just didn't hold up. Our maintenance man got brass fittings and fixed 'er up.

That link to Home Depot shows 13 people reviewed the item. The Average rate is a 1.7 of 5.

Walk, strike that, RUN away from that product!

If you plan on pressure washing a wood deck with it then 2,000 psi really isnt enough. Ive got a 2,500psi gas pressure washer and its hardly enough for my likes. Personally I would like 3,000 psi.

I dont use it on my Jeep other than spraying off the under body and fender wells. If I do use it to spray the paint off Im very careful.

SSMUFF, I just read the reviews on Home Depot's page. If you haven't read them yet, take the time to do so. You certainly won't be buying this model after reading them. Good luck in the hunt. For what its worth, my father has always had gas models from Home Depot and has never had a problem.

The whole water + electricity just seems like a bad idea from the start. Check Craigslist for a used GAS pressure washer...any machine shop can fix a small gas engine. Electrical problems means tossing the unit. Just my humble opinion of course.

I have one of the Husky 1550 electric ones and have never had a problem with it, I use it mostly to spray off my dirt bike and my buddies bikes and quads when we go riding. I let a buddy borrow it to pressure wash his house with no problems.

I used it to spray off my girlfriends white fence, again no issues.

I got it couple years ago when they were on sale at HD for $99. On some of the reviews some people said that the nozzle was junk and this would break but I have not had a problem with mine.

Before I normally buy most electronic devices or gadgets, I go to amazon and read the reviews, usually is a good indicator if something is worthwhile or not

Just a side note most consumer pressure washers are overrated in the PSI department and don't take into account pressure lose caused by the house and other factors. A typical consumer grade 3000psi machine is likely only putting out 1500-2500psi and that depends on having the correct tips.

I have been powerwashing professionally for over a decade including cars, houses and many decks. At 3000psi you would likely blow the wood apart. I have a 4000psi machine that I run a 2000psi- for deck restoration and even at the pressure if I'm not careful and get to close to the wood it can cause serious damage.

For car washing you really don't need anything more then 1500psi and that really is the most PSI I would use on a painted vehicle. For detailing use I really like these Kranzle units,

Thanks guys for the comments. I know the reviews on HD show a sad story. Most product reviews on HD show that. Here in Wichita there is no Costco so that Karcher model is out. Then if it really is a hassle then I would just rent. I see no point in trying to store a big gas powered power washer. That was one thing about the small electric models was I could pack it up and store it.

Went to HD to see what the rental fee was for a gas powered pw. $65 for the day!
