The Grit Guard is for cleaning your wash mit/sponge.

The pads for a G100/110 you could wash in your washing machine if they are washeable pads, and there is one or two other pad cleaning systems sold also. Or yo ucan simply go to your sink, and rinse/squueze them out as best you can, with some Dawn.

there are a variety of cleaners out there. Some dedicated pad cleaners, and household stuff like Murr mentioned.

Lot of folks like Dawn Power Dissolver (believe it is called)

Not quite true, the pad washer I bought uses a grit guard for cleaning.

This is true, the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer uses a Grit Guard Insert plus some other pieces as a part of their pad washing system. I have one and it works really well.

As easy as 1 2 3. The UPW cleaned this pad in 7 seconds. Before being cleaned, this pad was loaded with bonded contaminants and buffing compound, rendering it useless. If it weren't for the Universal Pad Washer, this pad would have been thrown away. That's $12 in the trash after one use.
