  • Ratio?

Meguiars D110 Hyper Wash reads that it has a dilution of 400:1.
    What does the mean?
400ml of water to a tablespoon of soap?

    Thanks in Advance

That is the lowest dilution it can go.
When I wash my Truck I just use 5 gallons of water to 1 ounce of Hyper Wash.
    And it is Biodegradable!!!

      Re: Ratio?

It means 400 parts water to 1 part soap. So for 400 ml of water you need 1 ml of soap so for 5 gallons of water you need about 2.13 ounces of soap, so not very much at all. (I have used hyper wash before, a little amount does a lot and stick to the ratios so you don't use too heavy of a concentration of soap.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.

1 pump for around 5 gallons of water. IME, 5 gal dilution is too thin so I cut it down to around 3.5-4gal per pump.

This is an extremely concentrated car wash soap and then intended market is tunnel car washes where they go through a lot of soap. One benefit to hyper-concentrating the product is no one has to pay to ship water.

See this thread in the How To Articles forum,

How to quickly, easily and accurately mix your car wash solution

          The Dixie Cup Method
To make things fast and easy each time you want to wash one of your cars or one of your customer's cars, and to insure you don't use to little or too much car wash soap, use a Dixie cup or some similar plastic cup to pour your car wash soap into and measure out just the right amount of soap.

          What to do
Use an ordinary kitchen measuring cup to measure out 5 ounces of water, and then pour this water into a 16 ounce Dixie cup.

Next, carefully marked the inside of the cup in a couple of places where the water level filled to with a permanent black marker and then pour the water out and finish drawing a line around the inside of the cup to match the marks you made.
