To me, that doesn't really look like clearcoat failure. I've had CC failure on my TA and it looked very cloudy, but this almost has a greeenish tint to it....like a chemical or something?

I would also be interested to know if you can feel anything by rubbing your hand over it. Also, it seems strange the blemish stops at the rubber piece on the roof.

ya its almost like something was spilled on it. It does have a rough feeling when I run my hand over the area.

A concrete/cement drip comes to mind. Or at least some water with a lot of the minerals in it.

I think there have been a couple links on removing that kind of thing....

Looks like a stain to me? Clear Coat Failure would be more wide-spread and generalized, not isolated to a small spot that looks like something corrosive splattered onto the paint.

Check out this thread and note that what you see can be done by hand with either M105 or Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Compound should be easier to find and comes in a 16 ounce bottle whereas M105 comes in a quart and has to be purchased at a PBE store or online.

Also keep in mind that the clear layer of paint on your car is thin so don't you might not be able to completely remove it, just depends upon how deep into the clear layer the stain has etched.

Good news! I got the stain out using Scratch X 2.0!!

I will post pictures this evening.

Mike, the products you listed above are impossible to find in Canada. Meguiar's really should have one store in Toronto stocked with all their products, there is a large target market here..

looked to me like it was the car wash soap or solution that came from the drive through car wash that dried on there. Some of the chemicals can be pretty harsh.

I am leaning that way as well. Oh well, only hand washes for the next 6 months!
