Can NTX wax be applied over crystal wax? Should the old wax be stripped off? I have used the crystal 3-step with satisfaction, but am always willing to try something better.

Welcome to Meguiar's!
Here's something I wrote last night to answer a related questions about applying NXT Tech Wax over another product,
NXT over Zaino
I'll say yes, it will remove some or most of it. Depends on how you apply it. It will probably remove more of it if you apply Tech Wax using a dual action polisher like Meguiar's G-100 because of the cleaning action provided by the high speed oscillating action.
If you apply a coat of NXT Tech Wax gently by hand with a clean, soft foam applicator pad, then it will probably remove less. Depends on how how much Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax is really present on the surface and how strong it's actual bond is.
NXT Tech Wax contains a sleight amount of a very specialized cleaner that is responsible for it's ability to do a number of things, one of which is to eliminate fine swirls.
Besides applying the Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax in your last detailing session, did you do anything else? Such as Claying, or cleaning the paint with a paint cleaner?

NTX wax
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info on NTX. It is quitw helpful. The entire site is great! My 2000 Expedition (uses a lot of gas and wax) looks 1000% better since I joined the site and started using Meguire's, and my wife really likes her new "paint job" on her black Honda Accord.
To answer your question, I used the entire Liquid Crystal 3-step on my truck, with two coats of the wax. It looks great, but every one is raving about the NTX, and I thought I would give it a try. I have not seen the NTX wash here, but the Liquid Crystal does a good job when mixed as directed.
I am not familiar with claying and so am hesitant to do it.
Thanks again.Raeburn

Raeburn,
You should definitely think about picking up some Quik Clay. When I first used clay on a car I was quite skeptical to say the least. However, now I cannot even imagine detailing a car without using clay. It is quite simple to use. First, spray some Quick Detailer on the area you're working on. Then move the clay bar in a back and forth motion until you can feel the surface is completely smooth. Then use an Ultimate Wipe to wipe off the Quick Detailer and move on to your next spot. Make sure to kneed the clay bar in between spots to get a new clean face on it.
Honestly, it is quite easy to do and you will be amazed. It removes pretty much all above surface contaminents.
Hope this helps!
Chris
