  • polishing and waxing by hand

OK, so here's the deal. Hopefully within the next week or so I hope to polish and wax my car to get all the light swirls and scratches out. It's a daily driver that sits outside 24/7, and the paint is in good shape already with only minor swirling, so I'm not looking for perfection, just better than what it is now. Here's my plan:

    Wash
    Clay
    DC1 Paint Cleaner
1-2 applications of Swirl X or Scratch X 2.0, whichever works better
    DC2 Polish
    MO7 Show Car Glaze
    1-2 applications of NXT 2.0

My question is, is this overdoing it? Have I added a step or two too many? I'll be doing everything by hand, so I'd obviously like to keep it as simple as possible while achieving maximum results. Anything I should change? Any thoughts or input is appreciated. Thanks!

you dont need DC2, go with Show Car Glaze. Its not necessary to use two pure polishes.

if your gonna use Swirl X on the whole car then dont do DC1

since your doing this all by hand then heres some good tips with using SMA Technology that is in SwirlX and Scratch X 2.0:

Tuck is right. You have a couple of redundant steps. Choose either DC1 or #7. You do not need two different pure polishes. And if you are polishing with either SwirlX or ScratchX, you do not need DC1. Simplify your process:

        Wash
        Clay
1-2 applications of Swirl X or Scratch X 2.0, whichever works better
MO7 Show Car Glaze or DC2
        1-2 applications of NXT 2.0
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

OK, here's another question. This is going to sound stupid and redundant, but how do you apply Swirl X, UC, and Scratch X 2.0? Do you use circular motions or back and forth motions? Can somebody point me to a thread about this? Thanks.
