Question here gentlemen. I plan on doing a wash, clay bar, glaze (#7), and wax (NXT 2.0), what are the benefits of using the number 7 glaze? And if my memory serves me right, it is glaze then wax?
#7 is a pure polish, it can be used after the claybar and before the wax. Does it have a benifit? Is your paint Clear coat or single stage? It has huge benifits on single stage paints, where it adds polishing oils and brings the paint back to life. On clear coat, that's debatable, if your car is new and in good shape, probably not so much... The best way to tell, do a fender or section of the hood, and compare it to the side that doesn't have a glaze, does it add depth or gloss? Always remove the glaze as you work it in, dont' let it dry and do one section at a time, then wax afterwards...
Tom's comments are spot on. At Meguiar's we always say that the pure polish step is an optional one. The benefits vary depending on level of paint prep, color, and paint system. Lighter colors just can't show depth of color like black, red, dark blue, etc so the effect of an application of M07 Show Car Glaze won't be anywhere near as dramatic on a white car as it is on a black one. But if you're chasing the absolute highest gloss you can achieve, then by all means do everything you can to fully prep the surface (clay, clean, etc to remove any and all defects both above and below the surface) and then follow with a pure polish and wax/sealant to finish.
Just because a car is white (or silver, or gold) doesn't mean it should treated to any less love and care as any other car. And there's certainly nothing wrong with having the glossiest, brightest, whitest car in town!

I put M07 on my silver Saturn and I think it made it look a whole lot better with claying and DC1. Just posted pics of it in the pics forum today. The paint is metallic and it made the sparkle stand out so try it out if you have a lighter color car.....you may just be suprised!
For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.
Ok. I detailed my Jeep for the track tomorrow. Let me say that it already looks amazing and the glaze and wax hasn't cured yet. Its such a love/hate relationship with black cars.
