  • Metal Polishing + Removing swirls

    Hey yall,

Just wondering, is it assumed that the NXT Metal polish or the Mag/Chrome Polish remove swirls that are in the chrome?

I recently had an aftermarket grille chromed since I bought it powder-finished. It came out great but they were wiping ("cleaning") the grille with a regular house napkin while the grille was a bit dusty . As a result the grille came out a bit swirly, not a lot, but enough to bother me.

    Thanks.

I really like to use M105 to clean chrome up then follow up with either NXT AMP or the Hot Rims Mag/alum polish.

So the M105 is safe on chrome/can remove swirls on chrome?

It is safe. If it will remove the swirls, or at least improve them.... just have to try a test spot and see. Metals and chome are not the easiest thing to remove swirls and scratches from.

i recently tried Ultimate Compound followed by Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum Polish and i was blown away by the results. after that i sealed it in with M20 Polymer Sealant. I guess paint care products do work on metal such as chrome.

This is a grille that was chromed after I bought it. So do you guys think that would change anything?

Is there any other compound that would work on it? 80? 82?

Not really, 105 or the chrome/metal products would be your best bet think.

I tried M80 on uncoated aluminum trim and it didn't do much. The best combo I found that worked was M105 followed by NXT All Metal Polysh.

i guess compounds are better than cleaner/polishes for that type of thing

Ultimate Compound works great as well

Hot Rims Chrome Polish is a great product too.
