First timer: What do I need?

I want to remove all the swirls from my cars paint and some normal scratches (2000 Eclipse), and I plan on buying all the equipment by the end of the week. Here is a list of everything I'm getting, am I missing anything?

I personally would swap out those pads for the new 2.0 version pads, and skip the cutting pad all together. I would also have at least 3 polishing pads, and 1 finishing pad. You will find that switching to a clean pad makes the job easier as the product begins to build up past a point where you can clean it out as you go.

I would also say that the new formula of M105 and M205 would be a much easier combo to learn and use (than M83/M80), and should provide much faster results as well. Start with M205 on a yellow pad, and if you need more cut, then get a clean pad and go with the M105.

I'm also a HUGE fan of Supreme Shine microfiber towels for product removal, so I would get at least 2 (3) packs of those. They are nice, and a little bigger than most in the industry.

Otherwise, looks good!

As for prices, you may want to take a look at www.AutoDetailingSolutions.net as well. If you spend over $125 there you get a nice Meguiar's duffel bag. Plus, the customer service is top notch.

So, I go with Amazon, when they have things in stock at decent price when I factor in the free 2-day shipping, and superior customer service.

For things Amazon does not have, I go with ADS.

You wouldn't need a cutting pad unless you're going to put a bonnet over it to remove wax. A cutting pad is not recommended with G110.

I would also encourage you to probably buy the 7-inch 2.0 pads, since you can put them in the washing machine, you could get these from ADS. You might also find 2 of the polishing pads handy, in case you were using 2 different products on same day. 1 finishing pad would suffice for a while as it's mainly use for applying wax, so you would be unlikely to need a second type of product on it, before washing it.

If you are going to go ahead an place an order with ADS, you might also consider the M105/M205 combo instead of M80/M83. I think as a beginner, I certainly do, find M105 and M205 even easier to use than M80/M83, and they give amazing results. These sometimes aren't in stock in full size bottles, but the sample size bottles from ADS are about as good a deal, per ounce, and it gives you more than you might think.

If you do get some from ADS, it shouldn't take too terribly long, since they are Arizona, and you seem to be Colorado.

Do I need one of those backing plates or will these pads fit right on the G110?
