  • Roof clear coat patches

The roof of my car has areas where the clear coat has come off leaving the base coat exposed. What should I do to protect the base coat until I have enough money to have it repaired? The base coat finish is now quite dull and I'm afraid it will deteriorate to the point that I'll have to have the entire car painted. Your help is appreciated.

There is nothing you can do really...Except get the car repainted.

Water and moisture will continue to get under the clearcoat.

You could continue to put a coat of wax on the paint. But obviously don't use any abrasive, clear coat removing products

Rub it out with compound or
wet sand if you know who to do that.
Then keep wax on it all the time.
This will slow down the continuation of deterioration.
