  • Glass Care/Fixes

    Hey everyone,

I know Meguiars does not make traditional glass cleaners but I was hoping that someone may know of another product or method to help. My windshield has what appear to be a couple of surface marks (not embedded scratches) from the wipers. They appear to be rubber scarring marks from the wipers. These have been on the car since I have owned it and I have tried dozens of different cleaners and even Goof Off, but I can not get them off the windshield.

Does anyone have any tricks or know of any products that can be used to “strip” these marks from the windshield.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture since it is does not show up well on still images…

    Thanks.

    Re: Glass Care/Fixes

    Hey, welcome to MOL

First of all, Meg's Does make Glass Cleaner

Get a sample size of this from ADS and a Trigger Sprayer:

    Auto Detailing Solutions Home Page

Try using this very high quality glass cleaner. If that doesn't work:

Clay your windshield and then use a light Paint Cleaner such as SwirlX or DC1

Thanks for the info Matt. Are there any special concerns/instructions I should have when using a product like SwirlX on glass?

              Re: Glass Care/Fixes

Auto Detailing Solutions has a glass kit. I have used it on our glass tabletops with a lot of success. Have not had the occasion to use it on auto glass. #4 usually does the trick for me.

Your first link on "Glass Polishing -Deep Cleaning" seems to be fubar...

I used this Lake Country Kit from ADS.
I might be a little extreme, but it will take everything off your glass, including glass.
