  • **Update**Five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels Photo's

Five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels standard on Escape XLT come of looking smooth but a Little flat .
What product would safely introduce some shine ? it looks almost like they have a flat coat of something on them they are smooth to the touch.

I could not get a comment on Ford Forums as to composition but here are some photos (its mucky 'couse we took it out in the country last night.)

OK I just read the manual(novel Idea)and the wheels are clear coated .

try washing them with some car wash soap and water. then after you dry maybe use some Cleaner Wax followed up with NXT Tech Wax 2.0

If they are actualy painted with a flat paint, there wont be a whole lot to do to give an artificial shine. You can wax them I suppose, but might not last too long on wheels.

Can you post a picture of the surface of the wheel?

        Is it coated?

Might want to check first with some Escape gurus as to exactly what you have as far as the surface of the wheel goes.

You certainly can treat them like paint then, and give them a wash/clay/clean/wax.

              that good news!

its always fun to treat wheels like paint. I remember when i first learned this from my Chevy dealer and through here at MOL. Now i always wash, clay, clean, polish, wax and maintain my wheels just like i do my paint. Ive found the Cleaner Wax topped with Gold Class liquid Wax a great combo on my wheels

Definitely a painted wheel- treat them as such. Just remember to start with the least aggressive method and work up from there.

I've had great results with soap/water wash with Gold Class liquid wax.
