How are you applying the product. This product does work, and will on your car. You have to put "Passion Behind The Pad" Please describe your method here or in Detailing 101 and we can help you achieve better results.Matt

I am able to to remove light scratches by hand.
Just 2-3 passes, each pass in less than a minute, and I can see improvement. I have tried on MF and Meg yellow foam applicator pad.

Just to note, I moved all your questions about your project out of the how-to thread in the How-To Articles forum and created your own dedicated thread for your personal project.
Sometimes it's better to start your own thread when seeking help with a specific project than to tag onto an existing thread.

Does that mean it will remove all scratches?
Depend upon how deep they are. Besides the product, there's also the factors of skills and abilities.
You say you applied Ultimate Compound 3 times and worked it for 4-5 minutes, I'm guessing this time was for all 3 applications and 4-5 minutes of one application is pretty long and you would have worked the product till it's complete gone and dry.
Assuming you're working the product correctly, (skills and abilities), then is it possible these scratches are too deep to safely remove?
Has the car ever been repainted?
What are you working on?
Can you take a picture of the scratches so we can see what you're working on?

Exactly:

Lightly run your finger nail across the scratches you are trying to remove...If your nail gets caught in the scratch than it most likely cannot be removed with your UC by hand...Matt

Re: Help using Ultimate Compound?
If you were working it for 4-5 minutes each time, then you almost certainly were not using enough pressure. When you use ample pressure on the pad it tends to break down and dry out the product, and you will likely only get 30-60 seconds of work time when using the right amount of force.

Just want to verify...
