    Re: Frustrated

As long as our waxes are allowed to fully dry before removing, and then after all dried residue has been removed, there shouldn't be anything left on the surface that's going to mix with water and then run down the side.

Not sure what the problem could be but I've used a boat load of A12 over my life and never had this problem and it's been on the market since 1973 and there's no history of this type of problem associated with this product. If there had ever been an issue with this product like this, then after 36 years we would have addressed it by now.

      Is the paint dirty?
      Have you clayed it?
      Sounds dirty to me.
I think the nicks are from the road, and thin paint.
Pictures of the problem would be helpful, not the clean car?

Since the staining is happening with both the TW and the A12, I think we can safely infer that the staining is not being caused by the products, at least not if you are using and removing them properly, as I'm sure you are. So the question then becomes, What else could be causing the staining? The big clue is that it occurs after a rainstorm. Can you tell us precisely where on the trim the staining is occurring? Pics here would be very helpful. In the words of Sherlock Holmes: "It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.”

Some of the scratches and nicks are white because wax got in them

How do you get these paint overspray stuff off? Paint cleaners and clay can't touch them

To me it looks like someone accidental rubbed their wax pad into and over the pebble textured black plastic and exposure to heavy rains is removing any dressing on the trim exposing the wax stains.

If there was no dressing to be removed/washed off then the cycle of exposure to water and then drying is acting to making the wax residue easier to see.

                  Where do you park?

This looks like the paint was gouged and the other scratches all look pretty deep?

scrubbing hard with the towel to remove the product *could* be inducing swirls. Spritz some water or qd on the towel or spot and try it that way, should come off easier

As it was said, that white on the trim is wax residue. One reason the trim shouldn't be touched with wax. Needs to be cleaned off with something like APC/APC+, Simple Green, a rubber eraser, etc...

                          Re: Frustrated

I have the same problem with the scratches. I tend to have more of them after parking my baby in front of the mall during hot shopping seasons.

Sometimes I imagine big busy house mom with bunch of shopping bags trying to squeeze between her family van and my beautiful car and living nice shiny scratch with her jacket zipper on my baby’s body. She sees it. Says "oh-oh" gets in her dusty car and drives away.

                            Re: Frustrated

The scratches could come from anywhere. I understand your frustration, however. When I bought my 2002 Corolla, it was in pretty decent shape body wise even though I purchased it from a dealer that used it as a loaner. There were a couple of scratches on it, but I covered them up with paint and left it at that.

If it's a daily driver like my 02', you will find that scratches will magically appear out of nowhere. Parking at the mall, work, grocery store or if you live in an apartment complex with assigned parking or not, it's going to happen. The only advice I can give you: Park far, far away from EVERYONE else wherever you go. If possible, park in a space where there is a curb. Parking in a space where no one can park to the left or right of you decreases your chances of getting "dinged."

Let's see, my 02' was hit with a flying empty 20oz soda bottle being hit with a bat by some kid in my old apartment complex. Same complex, my parking lot was directly across from a median where kids played baseball. I'm sure you can imagine the dents caused from that. Car used as a personal lounge chair. Then I moved in 05' in a condo complex with assigned parking. The parking space next to me; a weekend drunk that drove home drunk and put some really deep gouges in the doors. Two or three times. Can't prove any of it. Now factor in the dents and dings caused by the following mentioned in the above paragraph and you have what you have.

Despite your best efforts, you will get scratched or dinged at one time or another. You then need to learn how to use the Meguiar's products to undo the damage (as I am learning now). I wish you the best.
