  • NXT paste may be "quick" enough

Yesterday I almost bought some Ultimate Quick Wax, but then asked myself, "Do I really need/want it". I never was very fond of the "old" spray wax.

I washed my wife's Tacoma last night and when I finished I thought, "Darn, I should have bought that new "Ultimate Stuff". I live 30 miles from the nearest auto supply store so this morning I got out a can of NXT paste wax, a foam applicator and one microfiber polishing cloth. Twenty minute later I was done waxing her truck -- wheels and all.

I have found that if I wax anything by hand, I can do it much more quickly with a paste wax.

Will I ever buy the new "Ultimate Stuff"? Darned if I know. If it goes on and off and fast as a QD, maybe.

By the way, her Toyota had last been waxed with NXT six months ago and it was still lookin' good. The truck is driven daily and is garaged at night. NXT works for me.

Not every product will appeal or work for everyone. Like Mike P says, if you find something you like, stick with it...

Me? I have to try out the latest and greatest stuff. Just something about the reviews and the raves, just calls my name when it is on the shelf and I am looking at it. So I have to try it.

I know I have a disease, but I dont want any help!

Money is tight for me and I use what works. I would like to try UQW, but can't justify it for now. I too like NXT Paste and just LOVE M16, glad I have 6 cans!

Find what you like and use it often! Good advice!

That 20 minutes would be 5 minutes with the UQW. It applies (for me) as quickly and easily as a spray wax.

Not to mention it smells sooo good!

That's just what I wanted to hear. The "old stuff" was a pain in the ....

          How do you apply it?

I spray about 4-5 pumps, and cover maybe 2-4 square feet, and then I take a supreme shine folded into 4ths and literally just buff it right into the paint. I know the recommended method by Meguiar's is to spread it and let it dry to a haze, but if you want to do it quick and easy, this way seems to work pretty darn well too..

I just did some durability testing and I was getting noteworthy sheeting and beading after 3 weeks and several days of rain (and a couple Last Touch wipe downs) with a single application of UQW.

Here are the two videos (the first video was 1 week after my initial application, and the second video was a full 3 weeks from the application date).

UQW after 4 days of rain, and 1 week since application

UQW after a total of 3 weeks

I used this method this morning with very good results. I went into the garage this morning and had water spots in a few places left over from the previous evenings wash. I started to reach for Last Touch and decided to see how UQW would work to remove fresh water spots. It worked so well I ended up doing the whole car the same way.

I agree. Applying NXT paste, for example, isn't very difficult. Put it on thin, dry, and it comes right off. Actually have UQW bit harder to come off as it's hard to see, so you miss spots.

I think they both have their place, but honestly, a wax touch up with a real wax/sealant isn't that slow either.
